| Berlin, 29 April 2003. An open editorial group, involving a number of different German civil society organisations, has finalised a new version of the “Charter of Civil Rights for Sustainable Knowledge Societies”. Version 2.0 includes the outcomes and findings of the Charter workshops which took place in Berlin in March. The Charter process had been initiated by the Heinrich Boell Foundation in 2002. As a preliminary result of content debates within German civil society, the Charter was handed over to the German federal government on April 29th. From mid-May to mid-June the Charter will be discussed and developed further, involving large parts of German civil society, in an online discussion forum on the German section of this website. |
